About the role
Whether it’s stacking pallets neatly, weaving through a busy warehouse, or loading trucks without a hitch, the best forklift drivers know exactly where the forklift (and its load) needs to be at all times. Our client requires a strong forklift driver who can perform material handling operations such as loading, unloading, lifting, transporting, placing and stacking goods and materials within their warehouse environment.
The role also includes various warehouse duties including picking and packing orders, cleaning, sorting, stacking and preparing items for dispatch.
- Some manual handling of goods between 15–30kg—requires your attention and care.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating various types and brands of forklifts to move, stack, and load/unload goods.
- Transport stock safely and efficiently around the warehouse.
- Placing materials in warehouse storage areas in accordance with instructions and specific layouts.
- Complete and update documentation relating to goods in storage and in transit.
- Preparing items for dispatch, including working with invoices and delivery dockets.
- Support container unloading teams.
- Perform manual handling tasks when required.
What we’re looking for
- A valid forklift driver license (LF or LO).
- Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Speed and accuracy are the two work characteristics most requested by clients.
- Physically fit and safety conscious.
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Meet specific client KPI’s such as pick rates.
- Able to use scanners, barcode readers, warehouse management software, as well as other digital equipment and systems as required.
- A safety-first mindset – keeping yourself and others protected.
- Able to avoid damage to stock damage and workplace incidents.
- Able to get there – reliable transport to get to and from work.
- Work Schedule: 7:00am – 3:00pm (7.5-hour shifts), 5 days per week.
